Soviet BTR-152 APC with 7.62mm machine gun and self-propelled anti-aircraft gun with ZPU-2 twin 14.5mm heavy machine gun turret. Entered Soviet and Warsaw Pact service in 1950 to replace Lend-Lease M3 half tracks and to quickly and cheaply motorize Soviet rifle divisions, which had been marching formations. Used as APCs, anti-aircraft vehicles, command vehicles and prime movers until replaced by the BTR-60 series. Remained in Soviet service in support roles until the 1980s, with several hundred in service internationally now.
